Flute Haven Native Flute School

Join us for four days of focused and fun workshops centered on music-making with the Native American Flute. This weekend is designed for players of any amount of experience who want to raise their playing and enjoyment of the instrument to a new level.

We meet in Phoenixville, PA on Thursday evening Oct 15, 2009 for the opening session. We continue with workshops throughout the day on Friday and Saturday. On Saturday evening there is a group jam session that is open to friends and family to join us in making music. The closing session is on the morning of Sunday Oct 18th and concludes at Noon.

Sessions focus on playing technique, improvisation styles, jamming with other musicians (flute as well as guitar, piano, etc), adding your voice to your music, incorporating rhythm, and song forms. You will come away with the ability to play with confidence and an understanding of rhythms, tones and improvisation.

In addition, there is an optional Facilitator Training Track that begins on October 13, two days before the main program, that provides training for flute circle organizers and facilitators.
